MYDG’s youth work is not extra schoolwork, it’s not support for learning, and it’s not run by teachers. MYDG is a registered charity (SC028495) that provides a ‘safe space’ on school premises where all children and young people are welcomed, supported and celebrated – giving support beyond what the school delivers.
MYDG’s work is about encouraging children and young people to participate in activities that will make coming to school more enjoyable and fulfilling, enabling them to make friends, have fun, learn life skills, gain meaningful work experience and find their place in the world. MYDG youth workers act as role models, building trusted relationships with young people to help them navigate the world around them so they have the best chance of thriving.
For Young People

Based in Craigroyston Community High School, MYDG is here for you.
You’ll find our weekly programme and more here: www.mydg.org.uk/young-people
We know that growing up in Muirhouse can be hard, so we provide support in different ways. There are opportunities to get involved in a range of sports, creative activities, separate boys’ and girls’ groups, trips and outdoor education, qualifications, traineeships and volunteering, and support with life transitions.
- MYDG’s base is a ‘safe space’ you can visit during the school day
- If you’re struggling with something difficult, we can walk alongside you
