Modern Languages
In the Modern Languages faculty all pupils learn French in S1, S2 and S3. They also study some Spanish in S1 and S2, and can choose to continue it in S3. When they go into S4 they can choose to continue with one or both languages, and can take them all the way to Higher or even Advanced Higher. Our faculty has a well-established link with a partner school in Wingles, near Lille. When possible we offer a summer visit to Lille, building strong partnerships between staff and pupils. We are also very excited about a new partnership with a school in Madrid with whom we will be carrying out a tourism project from 2018-2021. Hopefully we will be able to plan a visit
to meet them too!We give pupils lots of opportunities to take part in extra-curricular activities. Recent events have included a national poetry competition, a national spelling bee, a visit to Edinburgh University to try out language workshops, a morning out at the Spanish film festival and a French theatre visit to the school.
