Daily Update – March 26

Dear Parents/Carers and Pupils of Craigroyston,

I hope you’re all well! It’s a shame that the weather isn’t as dry and warm today but don’t forget to try and have some time outside in your backgreen or back garden if you have one – the fresh air will be good for you during this strange time that we’re all experiencing! You might want to try some of the exercises that our pupils have shared with us in the videos below – that will keep us fit and healthy!

There have been a few questions from parents and pupils about SQA coursework and how grades will be determined in the absence of exams. At this moment in time we know that we are not required to submit coursework for Highers and Advanced Highers or any National 5 subjects who haven’t yet submitted their subjects. We are not allowed to have any young people in school to complete their coursework. We are waiting for further information from the SQA about how exam results are going to be decided.

As mentioned yesterday, we are open to young people whose parents are key workers and have signed up for the service. Please contact us for further information about this.

Yesterday, our challenge of the day was to  recreate the emblem of your house! We’ve had some outstanding efforts! We have great drawings of a shark from Ty Lamb; Miss Short’s amazing shark hat; Mr. Baxter’s wee girl, Maggie, did a fab creation of a shark and Mrs. Grant used origami to make a brilliant kestrel! Well done guys! Love all the great efforts!

Once again, if there’s anything you’d like to ask, please message the Facebook page or send an email to at Shelley.McLaren@craigroyston.edin.sch.uk

Take care everyone! We’re missing seeing you all in school every day!

Kind regards,
Mrs. McLaren

Our song of the day is ‘Good Feeling’ by Flo Rida. This was requested by Miss. Dunlop – she hopes it makes everyone have a good feeling and dance crazy around their livingroom!

Our quote of the day:

“Every storm in your life is followed by a rainbow.

Our challenge of the day is to make or create a rainbow! You may have seen that many people are putting rainbows in their windows to cheer up their neighbours or people out on their daily walk! I’d love to have as many rainbows as possible to show tomorrow! Be as creative as possible!

Our videos of the day are the awesome keep fit exercises made by our pupils! Thanks to Lennon, Ben, Lewis, Daryl, David and Miss. McNeill for doing these for us! Woop woop!

Yesterday’s Challenge of the Day: Drawing house emblems:
1. Miss Short’s hat, 2. Mrs Grant’s kestrel, 3. Mr. Baxter’s wee girl’s creation, 4/5 Ty Lamb’s pictures!
