Dear Parent/Carer,
As you will now be aware, The Deputy First Minister has announced the cancellation of Final Exams for Higher and Advanced Higher Candidates.
Pupils sitting these levels of Qualifications will now have provisional grades submitted to the SQA by their teachers based on evidence gathered in class. We are still awaiting further clarity on what this will look like for our Higher and Advanced higher pupils and will be in touch in due course to confirm this.
To offer a level of stability, and in consultation with pupils and staff, we will still continue to offer a Formal Assessment Diet in January to all our pupils. National 5 Pupils will have assessments in class, whilst Advanced Higher and Higher pupils will have formal assessments with external invigilators.
The links below are the Formal assessment timetable for both diets – National 5 and Higher/Advanced Higher:

These formal assessments will be part of the evidence collection process in school – this has been explained to all pupils and it is imperative that pupils are attending at all times possible and ensuring they are applying themselves to the best of their ability in all classes.
If you have any questions surrounding this issue, please do not hesitate to contact me in school.
Many Thanks,
Mr Murphy
