Exam leave will begin on Thursday 24 April for those that are entitled to it. The criteria is as follows:
S4
- 4+ N5s – Full study leave
- 1, 2 or 3 N5s – Three days prior to the exam day
- N3/N4 only – No study leave
S5/6
- All pupils – Full study leave
- S6 pupils – last day Wednesday 23 April (more info to follow)
All pupils that do not have study leave should be in school each day as normal. The information around how this will look will be shared very soon.
All pupils will be given Digital access to a ‘Your Exams’ Booklet. This can be found via the following link, included in the school website and on our Pupil Teams page. This gives lots of information about how to prepare for exams and what the expectations are on the day. You can click on the following link to access it as well Your Exams – SQA.
Important points to highlight:
- Pupils must arrive at least 20 minutes before the exam and register in the canteen.
- Pupils must be in full school uniform
- Pupils should bring stationery needed for their exam (pen, ruler, calculator etc)
- Pupils should not bring phones, smart watches in to the exam hall at all. All bags must be stored elsewhere with any of these items in them.
- If there is any issue meaning that a pupil might miss the exam or be late, it is vital that contact is made with the school as soon as possible on 0131 477 7801
All pupils can access the school for study during the exam diet. They can either arrange a time with their teacher to come in to the school to prepare or they can make use of the school library as well. Pupils will be expected to follow normal school procedures and should be in school uniform as well.
SQA’s learner booklet
Your National Qualifications – is available to download here. The booklet contains important information for learners creating and submitting coursework for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher. It also highlights the rules that learners must know and follow to ensure they are not penalised. Please encourage your child to download and read the booklet.
