Change of Timetable
S1-3
Current S1-3 pupils will change timetable on Monday 2 June. This means that all pupils will move up to the next year. e.g. S1 will now become S2 pupils, S2 will now become S3, and S3 will now become S4. This will mean that pupils will follow a different timetable from Monday and are likely to be in different classes from the previous year. All current S1-3 pupils will get their timetable in school on Thursday and will have the opportunity to pick it up on Friday if they are absent. If a pupil is off school this week, then they can collect their timetable at the front of the school when the new timetable starts on Monday 2 June as well.
S4-5
All current S4-5 pupils will be taking part in Senior Phase induction on Monday (2nd), for part of the day, and Tuesday (6th), for all of the day, next week. Pupils will receive their timetable as part of these Senior Phase induction days on Monday. If a pupil is off school on those days, then they can collect their timetable at the front of the school on Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
S5-6 Senior Phase Induction
Clear expectations for S5-6 will be communicated as part of the senior phase induction. This will include pupils completing a “contract” with regards to these expectations and their return for S5/6. More information around this will follow.
From Monday all S5/6 must comply with the following:
- Full school uniform must be worn – pupils may be sent home to get changed if not
- All pupils must have their school iPad with them – pupils may be sent home to collect if not
- All pupils must attend all classes on time
As with all other periods during the school day, if a pupil is late for Period 1 or absent, then this will marked as such and communication will be made with home. Can we please ask for your support in making sure our young people are in school, on time, each morning.
Recoursing
If a new S3-6 pupil wants to change a subject that they have chosen then they will be given an opportunity to recourse. A digital sign-up sheet will be available outside Mr McFarlane’s door for pupils to scan to if they would like to recourse from a subject. They must continue to go to their classes in the meantime until this has been done. It is important that they do as follows if they wish to recourse:
- Pupils remain in classes unless Mr McFarlane has contacted the classroom teacher to send them for re-coursing.
- Pupils should not leave a classroom to recourse or scan the sheet. They should only do this during break or lunchtime.
- Looking to recourse does not mean that a pupil will be recoursed. This will be dependent on availability of other subjects at that time. Therefore they should continue to work hard, as required, in their current classes.
