Daily Update – Wednesday, April 2

Dear Parents, Carers and Pupils of Craigroyston,

I hope you are all good today! It’s almost the Easter holidays which is usually a very busy time in our school: it’s a time when we’re preparing to say goodbye to our S6 pupils; it’s a time when we’re finishing off assignments and working hard with our seniors in the run up to exams and it’s a time when we start to think about June, our new timetable and summer trips. This year is very different – but hopefully when we look back on this time we’ll remember that we stayed at home and we saved lives and we came together as a community and looked after one another.

Thank you to all the parents, carers and pupils who came into school yesterday to collect additional work. It was great to see so many of you! Today, Miss Stewart will be on reception from 9am until 3pm and will be able to give out work or answer any questions. To the seniors who have contacted me about additional work, I have put it at reception and it is ready to be collected. There have also been questions about exams and the SQA. Currently we are still waiting on specific information about how exam results will be determined. We will let you know as soon as we do.

Yesterday’s challenge was juggling! Wow! There are so many great jugglers out there! Today we have Miss Wilson, Mrs Grant and Miss McCallion showing their amazing juggling skills! A special shout out to Mr Baxter who taught himself to juggle in just ONE DAY and then sent us a video of his efforts at the end of it! Absolutely brilliant and shows what you can achieve when you’re determined!

As ever, please contact us through Facebook or email me at Shelley.McLaren@craigroyston.edin.sch.uk if you need help or support with anything.

Take care and stay safe!

Kind regards,
Mrs. McLaren

Our song of the day is ‘No Daylight’ by Fuse ODG requested by Ms. Softley our Business Manager!

Our quote of the day:

“Whatever you do, don’t get stuck on the one thing that ruins your day. Smile and be grateful. Life is too short to waste on negativity.”

Our challenge of the day is to draw a colourful picture of anything that we can share with people who are staying in our local care homes and local hospital! We have been asked to try and brighten up the days of those who can’t get out! Send us your pictures (the more colourful and happier the better!) and we can send them to our local care homes and hospital to help people through this difficult time! Be as creative as you can, take a photo and send them in!

Our video of the day is our amazing jugglers! Well done guys!
